Spring Flowers
My Mothers Spring Flowers
My heart fills with joy to the sights and sounds of springtime in WV. My family had a get together at my moms. We were sitting on the front porch and all of the sudden the air was filled with a sound of frogs croaking. I know some people may have never heard this especially if you live in a busy city. This sound at twilight in the country is like a relaxing mood sound only it is real. In a world that is usually rush with all the things that are to be done, it sure is nice to sometimes slow down to nature's pace. I have found it brings my mind and body back in touch with each other. I love our beautiful trees especially the red buds when they bloom, even though my mom says we go through a red bud winter and also a dogwood winter. I used to think nothing controls our weather but the atmosphere itself. Now I kind of believe it myself because we have rain and cool weather until both trees bloom out and the blooms turn dark and die.                                                        I also love to watch all the little animals especially the beautiful birds. The red robin and bluejays and even the crows .  They help keep down disease by eating all the road kill . I often think what a empty world it would be if there was no music of our birds. I am blessed to live were every morning this sound is my wake up call. I love watching the animals move about like they have awaken from a deep sleep. My boyfriend and I see the little rabbits hopping every where and the squirrels climbing the trees . Sometimes if we are lucky we get to watch a mother deer with her fawns, to me there is nothing any beautiful. Our home state is one of wonder and amazement in many ways. I am very proud to be from WV were the trees seem to reach the sky.
